Long Awaited

I have been waiting a long time for the series "Lost" to start back up again. I believe that it is a two hour special tonight. Robert doesn't care much for the show but he watches it weekly with me when it is on. It is typical for Robert after watching an episode to wonder why in the heck he watches the show. Here we go ......

The Core

I couldn't fall back to sleep this morning so I decided to watch a rented movie from itunes. "The Core" was my selection. It was okay ,,,,but pretty predicable. I have to wonder how much of the fiction is true if any?

I don't know much about Geology ........but I have brother that might be able to educate me if I have any questions. Possibly, I will give him a ring on the phone tonight.

I just had another idea for a podcast ...I might have to give it a few thoughts and then call my brother. My brain is in overdrive!

Off Work

After a visit to the doctors office yesterday I am off work till the end of the week. I didn't disagree with her decision on honestly I feel like shit. Robert left work a half a day early to take me to the doctors cause he was worried about me driving.

After going to the Pharmacy to pick up some new medications my doctor put me on Robert brought me home. We took the phone off the hook and took a little nap. It was nice ...just that alone made me feel better.

I always wish for extra time on my hands to get things done ....I wish I wasn't feeling so crappy. With the way I am feeling ....I will probably hanf out with the puppy and drink lots of fluids.

Terence Mckenna: 2012 Timewave Zero TV Show Sightings

A video from You Tube worth watching.

I Love iTunes Movie Rentals

I have just downloaded my fourth movie rental since Apple announced at Mac World that they were introducing movie rentals. This morning ...as I lay sick in bed I watched the Divine Secrets of the Ya YA Sisterhood. It was an excellent movie! It is a movie that I have been wanting to see ...but it was definitely a "Chick Flick" ...which is the only movie category that is off limits when Robert and I watch movies together. Tonight I downloaded a movie called "The Core" ...looks interesting. I hope by the weekend I get a chance to watch it. Although ...I do want to get started of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy I purchased.

When you download movies from you have 30 days to start the movie. Once yo start he movie you have 24 hours to watch the movie as many times as you want. '

I think I will be sing this service often.

Watching American Idol with Brittany

Tonight I am relaxing on the sofa as I watch American Idol with Brittany. Tonight they are showing the auditions form Nebraska. There have been a few good ones ....but not as good as the other cities. The highlight of the evening was when Simon let Ryan sit in as a judge for one audition.

Tonight while Brittany and I are watching TV Robert is off at his tuesday nigh bowling league night. The last time that he bowled his bowled 11 in a row ..so I am hoping that he calls tonight ad says that he had a full 300.

Wind Advisory Tonight - Scary

I have to admit that I am one of those goods that watch the weather channel more often than I should. Anyhow, there is a severe wind advisory coming. According to the National Weather in Pittsburgh we are expecting in excess of 60 mile per hour winds tonight from 1:00AM to 10:00 Am tomorrow morning. I guess there is a possibility I may get up in the morning without electric ....which would totally suck. They may even call of school ....at least I would think the would.

Opinions

I know that opinions are like ass holes ....everyone has one. ANY, I typically don't talk politics on my blog. First let me say that I do not care at all for our current president, President Bush. BUT ...he is our president ...and for that I will respect him.

When I was watching the State of the Union last night there was one thing that kept happening that really pissed me off. Why is it that the Democrats didn't clap? In my opinion ....whether you like the man or not ...whether you agree with him or not ...you still show respect. The act of not showing respect in my opinion is showing disrespect.

When I vote for President I will look for qualities in character as well as ability. Good character and showing respect is what we need to be teaching the children watching the State of the Union address last night ....not a divided government.

Home Again Today

I am having yet another one of those kidney days that is pretty much keeping me down. On top of that I woke up this morning with a freakin head cold .....that I could really do without. I did go into my work email box and clear a couple things out. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow ... I hope she can help me get through this once again.

Sleeping on Cloud Nine Soon

I have NOT been sleeping on cloud nine for the past few years due to the crappy mattress we purchased. We currently have the Temperpedic ...with individual controls. Our current bed is the by far the worst bed I have ever slept on. Yesterday Robert gave me the green light to purchase a new mattress ....and I already knew what mattress I wanted. If you have ever stayed at a Hampton Inn in the most recent years you will know what I am talking about. Sleeping on a Hampton Inn mattress is like sleeping on cloud nine ......so......... I called yesterday and I will am getting the exact mattess made by Serta that is made for the Hampton Inns. The only bad thing is that it will take 4-6 weeks for me to get.

Who Stole My Brother

I just got done reading my brothers blog and I come to the conclusion that someone has taken him hostage. I am going to call 911!! There is no way that MY brother would ever give up something for Lent ...so I must report this stole person immediately.

I Hate Sunday Evenings

I love sleeping in on Sunday mornings ...then the rest of it goes down hill. It's is now Sunday night and that only means one thing. BACK TO WORK. So now ....I am getting ready to lay down after a very nice Sunday ....knowing that when I wake up ...I have to go to HELL.

.......until I get back from hell

Thank Goodness for ITunes

I wasn't planning on using NetFlix anyhow ....especially after the recent announcement from Apple introducing their new "Movie Rental" feature. Its a good thing ITunes came along ....because NetFlix can't make Mac users happy.

Here is the article form Mashable

Netflix, which recently modified its service in order to offer unlimited streaming movie rentals to its customers, has one major flaw in its efforts to compete with the new Apple movie rental offering–Netflix’s streaming service doesn’t work on Macs. This is due to the fact that Netflix uses a Microsoft-based DRM service that only works with Windows.

However, “Netflix said it hopes to support Web-based streaming for Mac owners in 2008,” according to Alley Insider. Looking over the other details that Alley Insider reporter Dan Frommer mentioned from the Q4 earnings call last night, it appears that Netflix doesn’t really have high expectations of its streaming service.

Is Netflix hoping that rolling out its support for Macs will help with user adoption? Given the set top box that Netflix is also rolling out, it would seem that Netflix is putting all the options out there, even though these most recent moves probably won’t take off in the near future. So who is Netflix’s true competition: Blockbuster or Apple? I’d say Apple. With a stronghold on portable devices and easy access to movie and audio content, Apple has a very intimate relationship with consumers.

So in becoming more compatible with Apple devices, perhaps Netflix is going the friendly route. As Apple’s most recent deal with film studios for movie rentals led to a surprising catch that resulted in new releases not becoming available until 30 days after DVDs are put out on shelves, perhaps this is Netflix’s opportunity to push whatever initiatives will help it maintain its own grip on the movie rental business.

The Black Vault

The Black Vault is one of my favorite podcasts. Its a little out there ....but some of it I do believe. The people that are interviews are highly respectable people that has contributed much value to society. You would NOT find these people on Jerry Springer. If you like those "What If?" type podcast ...then I highly recommend the The Black Vault. I found this podcast a little over a week ago and I have already listened to all the archives.

9 minutes and counting

With 9 minutes left to save $200 on a grill from Sears. Robert and I hurried to get the credit card into Sears.com.  We made it!  We have not had a grill in 4 years.   We can now finally grill at the house once again.

2012

Those of you that know Me well know what I have been on a spiritual path for the past year ...that path has led to places I hadn't thought about in the past. While on this path I have learned much about the phrophecy of 2012. I have come at this subject from several perspectives. I have listened to renowned scientists, religious leaders, historians of ancient culture. it is my belief that we are in for a ride leading up to December 21st, 2012. I hope and pray that I am wrong. I come across a lot of information that I am going to start sharing in this blog. I am going to tag it "2012. For those of you that are interested in the information I found on the 2012 topic ..then you just just hit the tag link of 2012. For those of you that think its just a bunch of crap ....don't read it.
At the moment I do not have a tag "2012" because I have not posted anything ...yet. Once I do .the tag will be there. I will be posting things that will vary between biblical prediction, scientific findings and research from some of the top people in today's media. Stay tuned .....

Went to the Mall

It is a very usual event when my husband steps foot in the mall. Tonight ...he not only took me out to eat at the Boston Beanery ...he also took me to the mall t do a little window shopping. It was so much fun. I love getting him in the mall. Although I know when we go that I can not expect too much "browsing" time. Robert likes to move quickly about and doesn't like the whole "looking around" thing. I did manage to get his opinion on new frames when I get my glasses ....which was nice. While I was there I also managed to pick up the trilogy to "Lord of the Rings" ...which I am anxious to start watching. Maybe tonight?? Or ..maybe tomorrow. Sitting back on a Sunday afternoon and watching a movie is always fun.

Big Ole Hair Friday

Someone PLEASE tell me what the hell is a Big Ole Hairy Friday?? I went to my brothers blog today and read one of his posts for yesterday called "It's Another Big Ole Hairy Friday". This is not the first time he has had a Friday that was big and hairy. Being stupid because I don't know what that means and also concerned as a sister ...I proceeded to Google. I thought he best way to figure out what is going on with my brother and the hairy thing was to do a little research. Well .....I came to a dead end. I put in the search box the words "hairy" and "friday" and was going to let Google work its magic and came to a dead end. You can clearly see when putting those words into Google it gives my brother page as the top result. So ...here I am back to square one. Can someone please tell me what the hell is a big ole hairy Friday?

Fighting for a place on the bed

I have a king sized bed that I share with my husband. Neither of us are bed hogs so you would think that getting into a comfortable position would not be a problem .....WRONNG! My ROTWEILLER races to my spot in the bed and gets to it before I do most of the time ...then I have to wiggle my way in around him without disturbing his highness. He snores, Robert snores ...and I lay there waiting for one of my snoring guys to move so I can find my spot on the bed. If I am lucky the dof decides the bed is too hot and he would rather be on the floor .....I get excited. My excitement doens't last too long beucase as soon as my cat hears th dog get off the bed ..she jumps on the bed in a matter mnutes. She then takes her tun getting comfortalbe in the bed while she kneeds my belly and purrs to find her persfect spot to get a good nights rest. When I come back in my next life time I want to come back as someone beloved pet.

Well its time to quit blogging for the evening and time to race to my spot bore the dog gets there first.

Lost

I am so excited ...my favorite TV show starts back up this week. This is another season for Lost The season starts on Thursday with a two hour special. I am really looking forwad to watching this season. However, if what I read is true this will be a very short season due to the writters strike.

I am not a cook

....I had a really bad cooking day. Everything I attempted to cook turned into a mess. I actually cooked dinner twice today and have both attempts fail. This is a dish I have made several times before and it always turned out great. Then, tonight I thought I would try some brownies ...I got them out of the oven and YUCK! I try my best ...but Sheetz does a lot better of a job than I do.
When it came to and inherited cooking talent in the family ..my sister got it all.

My Sidebar

I just wanted to bring your attention to the right of this page. It is what Blogger calls The Sidebar. There are a variety of widgets that can be added. I have chosen to add server. However, for today its the top to widgets I want to bring to your attention. The first is selections from my Google Reader that I want to share with everyone. This comes in handy when I read something I can simply "share" it with my readers so you can see it to.

The second widget down is my Twitter. I twit all the time. Its kind of like a mini blog. Its a brief statement of what I am doing at a particular moment in time.

Sometimes these widgets look like forced advertisements ...but they are not. It just more of myself that I want to share with you.

A Very Popular Screen Cleaner

I have to admit .....I love having all the newest of geek toys. This new screen cleaner is my all time favorite. I am definetly going to have one.

Sunday Nights

Sunday nights mean that Monday morning are just aroung the corner.  I hate the start of a new work week.   UGGGG!   I am going to try and get a lillte reading in before bedtime tonight.  I got a new book called the Divine Matrix.  Looks like a good one  ....will let you know when I am done.

Dealers Choice Poker

Last night our friends Ron and Dreama came over to play cards. Its been well over a year since the four of us sat down and played poker. We had a good time. It had been so long since I have played a few of the games that I had almost forgot how. By the end of the night I was still scratching my head on a couple hands not knowing what to so. All in all ...it was a good night.

The Matrix

I borrowed the trilogy of the movie called "The Matrix" off of my friend Jayson. I had ever expectation to watch all three movies today. I decided after talking to Jayson to start a little earlier than today if I wanted to see them by the time the weekend was up.
I started the first one on Friday evening, the second on Saturday morning, and the final one this morning. I tried watching the first of the series a few years ago and couldn't get into it. This time ....I very much enjoyed the movie. It was fun watching a three movies in one weekend. I think the next series I plan on watching is "Lord of the Rings" ..of which I have seen none.

Test Results

I got the results of my CT scan.  The tumor is still there ...slightly larger ....but not by much.  I was really hoping this tumor was not going to be there.  I have an appointment with my doctor on Thursday to review the results.

More News From Apple

Yeah! I guess I will get to upgrade my ipod touch!!

The iPod touch will be brought up to par with the iPhone in terms of
available applications. For a $20 download on iTunes, anyone can now
load Mail, Maps, Stocks, Notes and Weather on their Touch.

I Was Waiting For This Announcement!

Just Announced from APPLE

"As expected, Steve Jobs announced the entrance of the Apple iTunes
movie rental store today at Macworld. Anticipation for Apple's movie
rental store has been building for some time, and the media empire was
also able to get all the major studios on board, which is good for Apple
and good for consumers. That includes Touchstone and Miramax, MGM,
Lionsgate, New Line, Fox, Warner, Disney, Paramount, Universal, and
Sony, according to Silicon Alley Insider. You'll be able to rent movies
to play on your Mac and PC computers, iPods, iPhones, and of course, the
updated Apple TV.

What's not so good about the new rental service, though, is the delay
time. In true Apple fashion, there are some contingencies to having your
media in the palm of your hand (or on your computer, or on your TV).
Rentals last 24 hours, they must be activated within 30 days of
purchase, and movies won't be available for rental until 30 days after
the movie comes out on DVD. That's a significant lag time to have
content readily available for rental purposes on the most popular
devices in the world.

While such contingencies are often the result of Apple reaching some
semblance of a "middle ground" with all of its media partners for
uniformity purposes, I don't see the point in having such a lag time
when it comes to new movies. Equally important, I'm sure you're all
wondering how much this will run you. HD rentals will go for $4.99, DVD
quality rentals will hit you up for $3.99, and older titles cost a
measly $2.99. Is it all worth it to be able to take your rentals with
you, wherever you may go?

It's thought that Netflix changed up its rental offering in anticipation
of today's announcement, lifting the restrictions on the number of
rentals you could view online. Couple that with Netflix's set top box,
and this rental behemoth has already tackled half of Apple's offerings.
There's also existing cable and satellite pay-per-view options, which
are still the standard for in-home rentals on-demand, and a growing army
of competitors, especially in the set top arena, that are working to
combat Apple's stronghold as well.

I don't get to watch movies very often, so I personally wouldn't notice
(or care) that a rental on Apple iTunes isn't available until 30 days
after the DVD release, but could this put a damper on the new rental
offering, leaving a hole for another company to take advantage of?"

Feeling like Crap

I haven’t been able to blog recently because Robert and I are really under the weather big time. I wish I felt well enough to at least enjoy some time on my laptop .....but I don’t even feel like that. Brittany had done a great job trying her best to take care of Robert and I ...I just hope that she doesn’t get it herself.

I really love my Kindell what little time I have had time to spend with it ...I will definitely be replacing all my books to the eversion. There are of course some books that are keepers ....just sometimes for sentimental reasons ...but for the most part most if my books are going to be replaced.

American Idol Starts Tonight

Brittany has reminded me often the past seven days that American Idol
starts tonight. This is a show that Brittany and I have always watched
together. I am looking forward to watch yet another season. This first
part we really enjoy ..because it is filled with laughs with people
trying out that can't sing at all. Once the competition really begins
Brittany and I typically have our favorites picked out and watch them
through the season.

What a Slick Deal!

Someone gave me a website yesterday that was supposed to have excellent
coupons and stuff updated daily. Typically, those places do have great
deals but you have to fill out 25 surveys to get the discount. I was
pleasantly surprised with this new website. I do a lot of shopping
online ..and this is a fantastic site without the hassle.

More Snow than Expected?

I definitely was not prepared for it to take me an hour to get to work
today. The roads were treacherous. I agree with the lady that called
into the Eric McGuire show this morning. She said whoever it is that I
responsible for calling off school needs to be send to Michigan. There
should not have been school this morning. Brittany was not going anyhow
because she is exempt from having to take finals ....but if she had ...I
probably would have kept her home anyway. There was a bus accident on
the way in to work ..and several buses off the road. And .....if I
could have had a hold of Eric McGuire I would have done something to him
...does that guy have a wicked attitude or what?

W2 Forms Already!

What a surprise When I came into work today and got an email that are W2
forms were ready to be picked up. To be honest , my taxes hadn't even
crossed my mind for this year yet I am sure I would have thought about
it by the end of the year.

On Roberts and my last trip to Best Buy we purchased this year Tax Cut
Pro for 2008. Robert called me mid morning to tell me that we were
going to start working on them tonight. I disappointed him when I told
him that I couldn't do anything until I got my income statement from
Mary Kay and Avon.

I hate giving Uncle Sam my money ....but I try to do it without too much
fuss.

Skype for another year

Brittany and I were both Skype users when it was for free. Then last
year they offered Skype Pro, unlimited calling for $25 for an entire
year. I was a little hesitant ...but I purchased Brittany and I both an
account. She has a lot of friends in wheeling so I knew she would be
making long distance calls. Robert and I also do our share of calling
long distance. Anyhow, after using it for a year I renewed both
Brittany's and my Skype account. I really like it and it is worth
every penny they charge. So when you see "Pink Camo" coming across
your caller ID ...its me.

Apple News .....I knew this would happen..

"iPhone Effect" boosting opinions, sales of Apple and AT&T

By Aidan Malley

Published: 12:00 PM EST
Apple's first cellphone has contributed to a steadily mounting
enthusiasm for Apple and its wireless partner AT&T that is leading to
more Apple product owners overall, says a new study by Solutions
Research Group.

Between October 2006 and November 2007, the number of respondents who
have a "very positive" view of Apple has shot from 21 to 32 percent, the
group says, while the overall number of positive opinions has climbed
slightly from 71 to 74 percent.

While the view may be connected to non-iPhone products as well, the
research also notes that the number of people expressing the same
opinion of AT&T has also increased from 17 to 21 percent over the same
period.

This shows clear signs of an "iPhone Effect" on either company, the
analysts say.

Such a halo is also said to be translating into real-world results.
Solutions Research estimates that about 31 percent of all study subjects
over 12 years old own at least one Apple device, easily besting the 20
percent from October of 2006. Ownership is not broken down into iPhone,
iPod, or Mac categories, however.

Nonetheless, the study authors contend that Apple's current public
opinion is only set to improve in the near future. At 49 percent, nearly
half of all respondents say that Apple is "getting better" while 36
percent believe the company unchanged. Only 4 percent believe Apple is
getting worse, the study says.

Previous observations by analysts have mirrored the Solutions Research
Group study and argue that Apple is creating an iPhone halo which
translates to a warm reception of other Apple products.

Brittany For Prom Queen

I jus found out that Brittany will be in the running for this years prom
queen at Clay Battelle. She is excited and nervous. I guess we will be
having a mother / daughter day here soon to look for a prom dress. I
had thought she was going to wait and run for homecoming queen next year
....but then surprised me with this.

The Celestine Vision

A little more detail what the book was about. Here the the visions that the main character finds the Peru.

THE FIRST INSIGHT . . . A CRITICAL MASS
A new spiritual awakening is occurring in human culture, an awakening brought about by a critical mass of individuals who experience their lives as a spiritual unfolding, a journey in which we are led forward by mysterious coincidences.

THE SECOND INSIGHT . . . THE LONGER NOW
This awakening represents the creation of a new, more complete worldview, which replaces a five-hundred-year-old preoccupation with secular survival and comfort. While this technological preoccupation was an important step, our awakening to life's coincidences is opening us up to the real purpose of human life on this planet, and the real nature of our universe.

THE THIRD INSIGHT . . . A MATTER OF ENERGY
We now experience that we live not in a material universe, but in a universe of dynamic energy. Everything extant is a field of sacred energy that we can sense and intuit. Moreover, we humans can project our energy by focusing our attention in the desired direction...where attention goes, energy flows...influencing other energy systems and increasing the pace of coincidences in our lives.

THE FOURTH INSIGHT . . . THE STRUGGLE FOR POWER
Too often humans cut themselves off from the greater source of this energy and so feel weak and insecure. To gain energy we tend to manipulate or force others to give us attention and thus energy. When we successfully dominate others in this way, we feel more powerful, but they are left weakened and often fight back. Competition for scarce, human energy is the cause of all conflict between people.

THE FIFTH INSIGHT . . . THE MESSAGE OF THE MYSTICS
Insecurity and violence ends when we experience an inner connection with divine energy within, a connection described by mystics of all traditions. A sense of lightness--buoyancy--along with the constant sensation of love are measures of this connection. If these measures are present, the connection is real. If not, it is only pretended.

THE SIXTH INSIGHT . . . CLEARING THE PAST
The more we stay connected, the more we are acutely aware of those times when we lose connection, usually when we are under stress. In these times, we can see our own particular way of stealing energy from others. Once our manipulations are brought to personal awareness, our connection becomes more constant and we can discover our own growth path in life, and our spiritual mission--the personal way we can contribute to the world.

THE SEVENTH INSIGHT . . . ENGAGING THE FLOW
Knowing our personal mission further enhances the flow of mysterious coincidences as we are guided toward our destinies. First we have a question; then dreams, daydreams, and intuitions lead us towards the answers, which usually are synchronistically provided by the wisdom of another human being.

THE EIGHTH INSIGHT . . . THE INTERPERSONAL ETHIC
We can increase the frequency of guiding coincidences by uplifting every person that comes into our lives. Care must be taken not to lose our inner connection in romantic relationships. Uplifting others is especially effective in groups where each member can feel energy of all the others. With children it is extremely important for their early security and growth. By seeing the beauty in every face, we lift others into their wisest self, and increase the chances of hearing a synchronistic message.

THE NINTH INSIGHT . . .THE EMERGING CULTURE
As we all evolve toward the best completion of our spiritual missions, the technological means of survival will be fully automated as humans focus instead on synchronistic growth. Such growth will move humans into higher energy states, ultimately transforming our bodies into spiritual form and uniting this dimension of existence with the after-life dimension, ending the cycle of birth and death.

THE TENTH INSIGHT . . . HOLDING THE VISION
The Tenth Insight is the realization that throughout history human beings have been unconsciously struggling to implement this lived spirituality on Earth. Each of us comes here on assignment, and as we pull this understanding into consciousness, we can remember a fuller birth vision of what we wanted to accomplish with our lives. Further we can remember a common world vision of how we will all work together to create a new spiritual culture. We know that our challenge is to hold this vision with intention and prayer everyday.

THE ELEVENTH INSIGHT . . . EXTENDING PRAYER FIELDS
The Eleventh Insight is the precise method through which we hold the vision. For centuries, religious scriptures, poems, and philosophies have pointed to a latent power of mind within all of us that mysteriously helps to affect what occurs in the future. It has been called faith power, positive thinking, and the power of prayer. We are now taking this power seriously enough to bring a fuller knowledge of it into public awareness. We are finding that this prayer power is a field of intention, which moves out from us and can be extended and strengthened, especially when we connect with others in a common vision. This is the power through which we hold the vision of a spiritual world and build the energy in ourselves and in others to make this vision a reality.

THE TWELFTH INSIGHT . . . IS YET TO BE RELEASED

Two Days Later

Two days ago I stated a book called the Celestine Prophecy. I decided to listen to the 8 hour audio version of the book instead of reading it. Yesterday on the trails gave me a great opportunity to finish it. I can honestly say this book is probably the best book I have read / listened to in my 43 years of life. I do love reading ...and I am not much a reader of fiction. This book was fictional ..but based on true facts and events. There will be a lot of chitter chatter over the next few years about the whole 2012 thing. This book really brings together ..what I think the Myans were thinking when they ended their calendar on Dec 21,=st, 2012. If you get curious ...read the book. You won't be sorry. Even if you don't agree with the spiritual aspects ....it is still a very entertaining and enjoyable book to read.

Yesterday on the Trails

In a previos post I had mentioned that Robert and I were heading south to go off roading on the four wheeler in Erbacon, WV. We did manage to get there. I tried to send a few pics via my cell phone ...but it wasn't working too well. I did have my good camera ...but I wasn't really sure I wanted to pull it out in the muddy conditions. We rode through and awesome waterfall near the Elk river. I was getting a little worried as the day progresses ..the son was going down and we had no clue where we were on the 15,000 square acres. Thanks to the GPS we made our way back to the car to get the four wheeler loaded on the trailer and got off the property and closed up the gate before sunset. When we got home I tried to practice backing the trailer up. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal ....but I was so very wrong. I think out of 10 attempts I got the trailer half way backed up only once. I am glad I won't be the one driving the car when the trailer is attaced ..otherwise I might have to pass.

New Ipod User in the Family

Today I spent my afternoon setting up an ipod for my mom. I got the podcasts downloaded that she wanted .....restored an old Ipod of mine, and gave her a tutorial to get her going. She has been wanting one for awhile ....so I was more than happy to get her going. I hope she enjoys it as much as I do. I have a feeling she will get into listening to the podcast the same way I did ...since we have a similar interest in some things.

Heading South

Today, Robert and I are heading south to Erbacon, WV. We will have miles and miles of road to ride. This will be the first time we are driving the car with the trailer attached ....I am sure that it will be a learning experience for Robert as well as myself. This is the property that we hope to someday put a trailer on ....and enjoy it year round, It is approx. a three hour drive. So about six hours of the day will be riding in the car .....then the remaining time will be on the four wheeler. My plan is to send pictures from my cell phone here to my blog today. So stay tuned ......

I Started a New Book

I just started new audio book after I purchased the hardback book. I figured if my eyes got tired I could put the work load on to my ears. I haven't read a word and have been only listening to this via my ipod. It is an 8 hour audio book ..and I have loved every word. I have been on a fast lane spiritual path since last year and have been have just followed intuition as to follow the direction I am being led. Anyhow, I heard about this book ...and knew that I needed to read it.

The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfied. Awesome bock so far ....I honestly believe that the spiritual path I am on has led me to this book.

Apple Keeps Raising the Bar

I am speechless! The newest of Apple News!

I have been a Mac user for the past few months and will never go back to Windows!

Happy Birthday Sandra Irene Newbraugh Bell

...who also happens to be my mom. She has been a wonderful influence in my life and I love her very much.

Test Tomorrow

Tomorrow I have an extensive ultrasound with contrast ...that will take most of the day. The ultrasound is to see if my tumor is changed in size any. I am a little aprehenssive and scared ...I just want to be gone.

I ended up taking the day off because it its going to require me to be gone from the office for too many hours. Robert also took the day off with me. I am one lucky lady .......Robert foes with me to all appointments and is very involved with all my healthcare. He has caught some pretty big mistakes and could have cause me serious harm. I am glad to have him by my side.

WVU on itunes

I am a podcast junkie ....and just hears some great news. There are
several universities on itunes that offer there course for free to
listen to on your ipod. Some of the top universities are on itunes.
WVU as joined itunes University. I have not had a chance to look at the
classes offered yet ....hopefully I will get a chance to do that this
weekend. Historically with the other universities on itunes the number
of classes offered increase with time. So, if you are interested in
taking a class at WVU for information purpose only then this is the
place to go.
Here is the link to get you started.

Over the Hump Day

This week "over the hump" has a lot of meaning since Robert and I have
been extremely busy this week. Monday was the day we took down all of
Christmas at the house ....we worked well past bed time to get it done.
Yesterday evening Brittany and went to Wall-Mart to do the monthly
shopping chore I typically do once a month ....on the weekend. I don't
know what I got a bug up my butt and wanted to get it done last night
....but come 10:00 I was regretting it. Last night was Robert's bowling
night ....I "thought" I would get home way before him and have the bags
unpacked and ready for bed. It took so much longer than I expected
..and Brittany was really ticked at me that I did this to her on a
school night. I got home right before Robert pulled in the driveway.
By 11:00 I was ready for bed. I was so tired anyway because it I had
unpacked at my new office and was dealing with that too. When the alarm
went off this morning ...I could have swore I had just gone to bed.
We had an adventure on the way to work ...... Stay tuned for that one.

New Office

New Office Location Yesterday

Yesterday was the first day at the new office building that is being
called THE ROC. When I arrived at work yesterday my boxes and things
were in a shamble. I spent the better part of the day unpacking and
rearranging things. I am sure that it is going to take a few days to
get used to my new surroundings. Its weird ....but when the height of
your monitor, location of keyboard, placement of phone is all out of
whack ..so am I.

It is dark in Core

Core from space is just a little darker since the SanJulian's took down their Christmas decorations. We spend the entire evening reducing our electric bill. I would say that between our Christmas lights outside and all of our inside twinklers we were one of the power company's favorite customers.

It always saddens me a little each year when the last light goes out. And on the other hand with all the extra stuff tucked away back in boxed in the garage I definitely have more room in the house and everything seems so light and so airy.

Until next year when the SanJulian's light up Core once again.

PJ day turned sour

It is a extreme privilege to work from home in your pj's. I was excited over the weekend knowing that this was going to be one of my pj days. Was started out very nice turned into a semi nightmare.

The reason I am working from home today is because my office is moving from one location to another. So unless I want to work on the moving truck working from home was my best arrangement.

I am so so very used to the nice network tool of Terminal Services. I knew that I would not be able to use that today because my work PC would be unplugged ...but I never dreamed I would encounter the problems I cam across.

I have access to my web based email and a few files that my manager sent me when she knew I was encountering problems.

I talked to Robert at lunch ..and he sounded as thrilled as I was. I have a feeling is new workspace is not as quiet as it was before.

Oh well ...tomorrow I will be at work catching up on what I did not get done today and unpacking boxes that hopefully the movers put into the correct cubicle.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DREAMA

Today, January 7th 2008 my best friend Dreama turns 21 years of age. Hope you have a wonderful birthday girlfriend!

I posted this a few hours before midnight in case she gets to my blog in the morning before I do.

A Book of Fiction

I rarely read any "fiction" books. Although, I have probably read more books this past year than I have in my entire life ...but they all have been non-fiction, spiritual, Wicca, Instructional, and biography. The last time I was at Barnes and Noble I picked up a "fiction" book ....but of a spiritual story. I guess I met myself half way *lol*

Anyhow, tonight as part of my nightly ritual, I will read. the book is called "Passage" written by Connie Willis. If the book is good I will have it read within a week ....if I get to the third or fourth chapter and I don't like it ...I won't waste my time reading the rest of it.

The Motivation Helps

One of my promised to myself this year was to get myself back into shape. Dreama being the great friend that she is came up with a way to keep me motivated. Dreama and I started this week logging out exercise online ...so when I fall behind she can get on me about it.

Alicia went walking with Dreama ..and now also wants to be added to the online website that keeps track of exercise. I told Brittany about this in hopes that she too would want to participate .....well, lets just say I will not be adding Brittany's name to the roster *lol*

Blogger Challange of 2008 - I ACCEEPT!

I guess I did not read my brothers blogs this week to realize he has give me a new blogging challenge for 2008. For 2007 he challenged me to 100 posts by the end of the year ....I did have trouble meeting the goal with all the medical problems I had ...but I made it a few days before the deadline.

This year he has challenged to 225. It was originally going to be 200, but since I have been off to a good start he raised it to 225. For some reason he thought that I was trying to out blog him. *lol*

So hopefully I will be able to meet this years challenge and will be raising the bar once again next year.

As my brother mentioned it is nice a the end of the year to reflect back on the year and remember some of the things you may have already forgotten.

Rain can really dampen things....

.....pardon the pun! Robert and i were supposed to be taking off and heading south to Erbacon to ride some trails on the four wheeler. Orignaly, we were going to go yesterday byt decided to postpone it till today because of the timing of Brittany's dance.
We got up and looked at the radar this morning ...and its a no go! Neither one of like partucally want ti ride in the rain during a winter month, Also, with this being Roberts forst outing with the trailer ..I think he would rather not have to deal with wet raods.
Maybe next week.......

Before The Dance

Tonight was another one of those memorable nights when I helped Brittany get ready for the dance. I may be just a little prejudice ...but she looked beautiful. You can find all the "Before the Dance" pictures that I took on both my flickr photo site as well as my Mac Photo Gallery.

She took her camera with her to the dance ..so hopefully I will have more pictures to upload later this evening.

Mac Tutorials Today

One of the things that is on my "to do" list is to learn as much about my Mac as I can. There are several tutorials offered by the Apple website. IN addtion to those I have subscribes to several Mac user podcasts. The one that I am listening to right now is ScreenCastsOnline. ScreenCastsOnline is starting a new series for those of us that are new Mac users. They started this series by their prediction that there would be many new Mac users after Christmas ...and they were right. Many of the basics I have already figured out ..but its nice learning something new about a basic you thought you had figured out. There are many things that I can't figure out ...or haven;t taken then time to figure out ....such as how to do a quick screen print. If I had known how to do that I would have included on on this post. Maybe next time.

Did you get a crappy Christmas Gift?

Did anyone get a crappy gift for Christmas? Well ..if you did then you are in luck! Shopit.com is having a contest for the "Crappiest Christmas Gift" . You enter in you gift and other users vote. The person with the crappiest gift will receive $5,000.00 for winning.

There is a part of me that feels this is wrong ...because there is no gift that is crappy because its the thought that counts. But sometimes I have to wonder what the hell of thoughts they were thinking when they bought the gift!

I am not saying that I received the crappiest gift this year ....or did I? *lol*

The First TGIF of 2008

I guess this is the official first T.G.I.F. of 2008. I have only worked a couple of days this past week ..but I am ready for a weekend. Its been forever since I have worked a solid 5 day week ...so that will be a challenge for next week.

It was a good week ...we brought in the new year and watched and excellent WVU bowl game.

This coming weekend the weather is supposed to be nice ....in fact Robert and I are kind of counting om it. Robert said that we need a "fun" day ..and I couldn't agree more. So if the weather is nice we are going to take our four wheeler south to the property in Webster County and ride for the day. If it is as cold as it is today ....I might have to beg Robert not go ...cause he is really looking forward to it.

I am sure that Brittany is looking forward to the weekend as well ....even though she only had 1 day of school this week ...due to holidays, weather, and a bus that did not show up.

Moving

Today will be my last day at the building I have been working out of for the past 9 years. The Ruby Data Center is moving across town to the ROC (Ruby Operations Center).

I packed up all my boxes yesterday ....I can't believe I have accumulated so much crap ...on top of all the work stuff that is required to do my job.

I think this afternoon Robert and I are taking our PC's over to our new offices and at least get them operational.

Monday is the officially scheduled day for the move ...which is when them movers will be moving our boxes, chairs and office equipment. I will be working from home on Monday ....otherwise I will be so distracted that I will not be able to work.

We have a new coach!

Last night the mountaineers won the fiesta bowl. This bowl game was coached by a Bill Stewart, a name that was not a common household name for a fair weathered fan like myself. After talking to many friends and to my brother I think that this coach is going to stay around for awhile and not leave us hanging like Coach Rod did.

Closet Assistant

Closet Assistant is just what I need!!!! It is a new website that’s supposed to help you create outfits based on what you already own. I have the worst sense of style and can never figure out what to wear together. This website is similar to Group Recipes that helps you figure out what to eat based on the food that’s already in your kitchen pantry.

I may give this a try and let you know what I think.

Let's Go Mountaineers!

Last night Robert and I watched the WVU bowl game to get it with a win!

We don't typically watch the WVU football games ...but we did this one. I think thats is why I am so tired.

New Years Eve - Deer Roast Video

A Snowy Day - I love it!

I was not at all prepared for this day of snow. It never crossed my mind that I would have this obstacle in my path this week. I guess that I forgot that it is winter.

Robert wasn't feeling well. I ended up taking a vacation day because I don't drive enough to feel comfortable driving in the snow.

I am sure that my brother was very excited to see a covering of white when he woke up this morning.

I did manage to download a few audlble books I and do a few things on the laptop that I have been meaning to do. I still have so much to learn about my mac ...it will probably be another few months.

Happy Snow Day to everyone!

New Years Eve

Here are all the pictures and movies I took yesterday starting with getting the deer ready for the roast ..and ending with the ball dropping to bring in the year of 2008!!

Just as a FYI ....I have been keeping two pictures sites going. They both offer a lot. The link I am sending is for my mac gallery of pictures.

News Years Eve with the Lemley's

Day 1 - It's a start

Today I hopped on the road to better fitness and general well being. I have have logged my intake into Weight Watchers already as well as my exercise. I only made it 11:46 minutes on the elliptical when I had a vision of the past when my beloved elliptical tried to murder me. Tomorrow is a new day ...hopefully Mr Elliptical and I can start to become better friends ...we didn't have a good start on our relationship today.

Until Tomorrow ........

Book Review - The Gaia Project 2012

I find myself doing a lot of reading lately and thought it would be good idea to keep track of the books I am reading. Today I finished a book I started last week called The Gaia Project 2012.

There is currently much hype about the year 2012 the past few years. This book is of a spiritual nature ..so if that is not your thing ...then you may not find this book interesting.

I loved this book. I don't know if I believe EVERYTHING that is predicted to happen in the next few years ...but I believe much of it. It was a good read and a book that was very hard to put down

The book was written as a reference pocket guide ..although I can't see myself pulling out this book to read a few chapters if things really do manifest.

Bringing In 2008

I for one was glad that 2007 is over. If I had to describe last year in one word I would chose the word "healing". But when healing occurs it replaces pain. I don't like dwelling on negatives ...so I am not going to recap. What I can say is that this past year there were relationship healing with some a few if the most important people in my life. There was also physical healing ..from a surgery that had in September. We still don't have all the answers when it comes to my condition ...but it is my hopes that is a chapter that will be closed this new year.

With all that healing taking place it is time for me to get myself back to normal both physically and mentally. I have been through so much these last few years and I am going to put it behind me and replace it with a good diet and exercise. I think that one I am feeling better physically my energy will increase and once my energy increase I will just feel better all the way around.

Last night we went to Ron and Dreama's to ring in the new year. This is a annual event they do ...and in all the years I have been going I think it was the best. They had a deer roast ...and it was awesome!!! I have not taken any pictures off my camera yet ...but when I do I will post them.m

On a fun note for 2008 I am going to learn more about my mac, clean up my blog and social networking sites, and possibly start a new podcast.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!!
