Relay For Life
As you have read in a previous post ..this was my first year participating in the American Cancer Society Relay For Live event here in Morgantown West Virginia. I truly believe that this participation was just the start of many years to come. It was moving, touching, inspirational and just down right fun. It was such a wonder to watch so many people in my community come together for a cause that effects each one of us in some way. I was also proud of Brittany for her particiaption ..I think she out walked most of us. When looking in the crown of participants, white shirts were people like myself, red shirts were team captains, and purple shirts were survivors. It saddened me to see so many people shirts, some of which were people I knew ....and a good happy feeling as well ...for they have battled the storm and were there to participate. Anyhow ...I could go on and on ...but I will stop here. With some final last words ....if you know me personally, expect me to be recruiting you next year to get out there and walk for a cure.

Can You Guess Who This is?
"The anti Christ will be a man, in his 40's, of Muslim decent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal ...the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything."
I read an article from the New York Times today. The article was written by a Black American Columnist for times.
He said so elleguetly " we need to stop looking at the race ....but to look behind the skin, behind the man ...the man who is running for the Preident of the United States. Some think he is a great communicator ....it's what he's not saying that worries me.
Thats my opiunion ...and as the saying goes ...everyone has one.

Water Line Break
After coming home from our second Jeep run yesterday we had a little unwanted surprise. Robert noticed that part of our driveway felt like walking on a sponge. It was a very weird feeling ......it turned out that Robert knew exactly what it was ......a FREAKIN BROKEN WATER LINE! What a bummer! I knew then and there that the next day being Memorial day has just went down the drain. Robert grabbed his shovel and out the door he went to start digging. After a few hours he found thin itsy bitsy hole in the pipe that was causing all the problems.
Jeeping
Yesterday Robert suprised me and Brittany and got the jeep out of storage and frired it up. We took a couple of jeep runs during the day and had a blast. It's been a long time since we have been riding. We took the doors off ....which even made it that much more pleasureable.
Here are some pics of the jeep I took yesterday.

Sunday Night
I was very tired this weekend ....I think the tumor is getting bigger. My next MRI isn't until July ....I am trying not to think about it much ...as the same time prepare myself for the big surgery. Most of you remember at my last surgery they were not able to remove the tumor. To remove it would require a surgical technique called "The Wipple". There are a few physicians at Johns Hopkins that do this surgery often with a very high success rate ......I just hope that it does not come down to removing the tumor.
I joined yet another scrap swap ...I think I am hooked!
...okay, off to bed ...5:30 come around too fast.

Happy Birthday Tina
Last night we enjoyed ourselves at Ron's as we celebrated Tina's 50th Birthday suprise. I will never forget the look on her face as we pulled in and she noticed the banner that has been especialy made for her. It was a priceless moment! I have many movie clips and pictures to share ....I just got done uploading them to my PC. My plan is to create a movie of the evening to share here on the web ...and to give Kevin and Tina in the format of a DVD ...so stay tuned ...it may take me a week or two. There were so many people there to celebrate with Tina ...it is obvisous that she is very much loved by amny people, I think every friend and family member she has local showed up to suprise her. Her daughter and husband and Ron arranged it all behind her back. Her daughter Reanne came in yesterday morning to get everything in place. Last night was the first time I met Reanne ....other than talking to her on the phone and I really like her. I wish she lived closer. So stay tuned for an upcoming movie and pictures displaying all the fun we had last night at Tina's Birthday celebration.
it's Finally Over
This past week The SanJulian's were invaded by a sycamore tree. I have seen this tree throw its seeds for ten years ....and this has been the worst year to date. Robert, around the tree for trile that time also says that he has never seen the tree shed so many seeds. I have my thoughts on it ........but that's another post or two.

Watching TV - Sunday Monring
I spent the weekend trying to figure out the best method for taking, storing, sharing and scrapbooking the photos I take ...I am still trying to figure out a plan will stick with rather than having photo's everywhere and no real organization. I thought I had it under control a few year ago ....but it would be nice to have all the pictures in albums, share most pictures on the web, and to scrapbook my favorites.
Brittany has been with her dad all weekend ...so its been a quiet weekend without her here.

Happy Birthday Amy
A treat from the hubby
Thanks to Ron for wathcing our baby while we were gone made it possible, However, the baby wasn't all to happy about us leaving. He can always tell what is coming when he see the suitcases. Ron said that while we were gone that Roki seemed to be sad and not himself. When we came home Sunday it was obvious that he was punishing us for leaving him for the weekend.
Once again as I am typing this blog my pictures are still be published to my Picture Gallery. The folder you want to for our weekend away is called "Wheeling Downs".
We went to Wheeling Island. The last time Robert and I tried to stay there we were evacuated because of a hurricane that came up and closed the casino the only time in the Casio's history.
We had reservation for the Terrace Room and had and awesome dinner. Robert had a New York Strip and I had a slab of baby back ribs. You can see from the pictures that my ribs was way more than one person could eat and I ended up bringing most of the slab home.
As far as our betting we ended up $50 in the red after seventeen races. Typically, I do better than what I did. I was selecting my dogs for a "muddy" track ...and when we got to the race it the track was classified as a "fast track". I won the most races ...but Robert earned more of his money back than I did.
We had an awesome time ..and think we are going to make this an Easter weekend tradition for years to come.
A Wonderful Play
I am in the process of uploading the pictures off my camera. Shortly, you will be able to go to my Picture Gallery and look for a folder called "The Play". Inside this folder you will find pictures of my mom with her friends who were also in the play and pictures of my brother, brittany and myself that evening.
Prior to attending play the my brother, treated my sister, Brittany and myself to dinner at Olive Garden.

Tuesday
Speaking of Daniel .he started a new job this week ....everything seems to be going okay with him. The only downfall is that he has to be gone away during the week away from Kamey and the kids.
Robert is bowling tonight ....he has been on an excellent streak ..so I hope it continues for him tonight. It makes me happy when he comes home on Tuesday evenings so hap because he had a good night at the lanes.
I am going to curl up here in a bit with my Kindell. I am currently reading "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle ....I think this book is changing my life. It is having a huge impact on me and just the way I am. I would recommend this book to anyone.
As I am typing this Brittany is putting her ear buds on my head so I can hear her list of most recent favorites.

CAT DIARY:
Day 983 of my captivity.
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed
hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the
rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to
keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.
In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet.
I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly
demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made
condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.
Bastards!
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was
placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I
could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my
confinement was due to the power of allergies." I must learn what this
means, and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this
again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and
seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the
guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors
have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is
safe.
For now...

Crazy at work
Right now, I am going to brush my hair out and curl up with a book that I am reading, "A New Eatth" by Eckhart Tolle. I woul say that this book is probably going to be the most important book in my life sedond only to the bible, and probably have an impact on my life that no other book could have created. If your not reading it ...you should be. Everyone should have to read this book.

Monday
I started a new book over the weekend called "A New Earth" ...is is a great book ..so far the book is living up to its reputation. The book is not an easy one to read ...it takes much focused thought while reading ...but the message is awesome and well worth the time it take to read and understand every word.

Hair Removal Evening
This is funny. (I don't have a clue as to who wrote this, but....WHAT A HOOT!)
All hair removal methods have tricked women with their promises of easy, painless removal -
The Epilady, scissors, razors, Nair and now...the wax.
Read on......
My night began as any other normal weeknight. Come home, fix dinner, play with the kids.
I then had the thought that would ring painfully in my mind for the next few hours:
'Maybe should pull the waxing kit out of the medicine cabinet.'
So I headed to the site of my demise: the bathroom. It was one of those 'cold wax' kits.
No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm and you peel them apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else) and you pull the hair right off.
No muss, no fuss. How hard can it be?
I mean, I'm not a genius, but I am mechanically inclined enough to figure this out. (YA THINK!?!)
So I pull one of the thin strips out. Its two strips facing each other stuck together.
Instead of rubbing them together, my genius kicks in so I get out the hair dryer and heat it to 1000 degrees. ('Cold wax,' yeah...right!) I lay the strip across my thigh.
Hold the skin around it tight and pull. It works!
OK, so it wasn't the best feeling, but it wasn't too bad. I can do this!
Hair removal no longer eludes me!
I am She-rah, fighter of all wayward body hair and maker of smooth skin extraordinaire.
With my next wax strip I move north.
After checking o n the kid s, I sneak back into the bathroom, for the ultimate hair fighting championship.
I drop my pant ies and place one foot on the toilet.
Using the same procedure, I apply the wax strip across the right side of my bikini line, covering the right half of my hoo-ha and stretching down to the inside of my butt cheek (it was a long strip)
I inhale deeply and brace myself....RRRRRRIIIIPPP!!!!
I'm blind!!!
Blinded from pain!!!!....
OH MY GAUD!!!!!!!!!
Vision returning, I notice that I've only managed to pull off half the strip. CRAP!
Another deep breath and RIPP! Everything is spinning and spotted.
I think I may pass out...must stay conscious...must stay conscious.
Do I hear crashing drums???
Breathe, breathe............
OK, back to normal.
I want to see my trophy -
a wax-covered strip, the one that has caused me so much pain, with my hairy pelt sticking to it.
I want to revel in the glory that is my triumph over body hair.
I hold up the strip!
There's NO hair on it.
Where is the hair???
WHERE IS THE WAX???
Slowly I ease my head down, foot still perched on the toilet.
I see the hair.
The hair that should be on the strip...it's not!
I touch.
I am touching wax.
I run my fingers over the most sensitive part of my body, which is now covered
in cold wax and matted hair.
Then I make the next BIG mistake...remember my foot is still propped upon the toilet?
I know I need to do something.
So I put my foot down.
Sealed shut!
My butt is sealed shut.
Sealed shut!
I penguin walk around the bathroom trying to figure out what to do and think to myself
'Please don't let me get the urge to poop. My head may pop off!'
What can I do to melt the wax?
Hot water!! Hot water melts wax!!
I'll run the hottest water I can stand into the bathtub, get in, immerse the wax-covered bits and the wax should
melt and I can gently wipe it off, right???
*WRONG!!!!!!!*
I get in the tub -
The water is slightly hotter than that used to torture prisoners of war or sterilize surgical equipment - I sit.
Now, the only thing worse than having your nether regions glued together,
is having them glued together and then glued to the bottom of the tub...in scalding hot water.
Which, by the way, doesn't melt cold wax.
So, now I'm stuck to the bottom of the tub as though I had cemented myself to the porcelain!!
God bless the man who had convinced m e a few months ago to have a phone put in the bathroom!!!!!
I call my friend, thinking surely sh e has waxed before and has some secret of how to get me undon e.
It's a very good conversation starter 'So, my butt and hoo-ha are glued together to the bottom of the tub!'
There is a slight pause. She doesn't know any secret tricks for removal but she does try to hide her laughter from me.
She wants to know exactly where the wax is located, 'Are we talking cheeks or hole or hoo-ha?'
She's laughing out loud by now...I c an hear her.
I give her the rundown and she suggests I call the number on the side of the box.
YEAH!!!!! Right!!
I should be the joke of someone else's night.
While we go through various solutions. I resort to trying to scrape the wax off with a razor .
Nothing feels better than to have your girlie goodies covered in hot wax, glued shut, stuck to the tub in super hot water and then dry-shaving the sticky wax off!!
By now the brain is not working, dignity has taken a major hike and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need Post-Traumatic Stress counseling for this event.
My friend is still talking with me wh en I finally see my saving grace....the lotion they give you to remo ve th e excess wax.
What do I really have to lose at this point?
I rub some on and OH MY STARS!!!!!!!
The scream probably woke t he kids and scared the dickens out of my friend.
It's sooo painful, but I really don't care
IT WORKS!!
It works !!' I get a hearty congratulations from my friend and she hangs up.
I successfully remove the remainder of the wax and then notice to my grief and despair....
THE HAIR IS STILL THERE........ALL OF IT!
So I recklessly shave it off. Heck, I'm numb by now. Nothing hurts.
I could have amputated my own leg at this point.
Next week I'm going to try hair color......
In case you have not figured this out ...this was a joke I got in my email from my friend Debbie .....I am still laughing.

My Brother has way too much time on his hands
Sent to you by Kim via Google Reader:
I have just became a Millennium Blogger. This very BLOG post is my 1,000th BLOG post since I first started Blogging with my first post on September 11, 2004 when I posted "My First Post" as my very first ever blog. Who would have ever imagined after that first post I would reach such a milestone as a Blogger.
I would like to thank my Sister Kim who first started her own online Journal on her old website. I would like to than Evan Fedorko for making the statement that he was a Grogger not a Blogger to make me wonder what a Blogger was. I would like to thank any and all dedicated readers who read this on a daily basis for information, News or just some rambling on my part.
What is amazing is how many times George's Journal has appeared in Google searches when I Google things up because of something that I have said in my Blog.
It's amazing sometimes how you can see yourself develop over the internet if you know where to look. 1,000 Blog posts says a lot about my post collegiate life since I became a Blogger after I graduated college. However like I said it's a matter of knowing where to look to see other material. During College years and also post college I have 20,000+ posts on Blue and Gold News and my username returns 1,490 returns of me expressing myself on the internet in one manner or another. Most of this was done during and post college. If you are looking for anything prior to me going to college, well that stuff is there too. I used to post on Newsgroups pretty regularly and if you google my username there you can come up with another 378 times I posted my opinion on one subject or another. Most of those were done in my WebTV days when I first started using the World Wide Web. Now if they could only google up my old IRC Chat transcripts from the early 90's with AOL and and later at Talk City we would be set.
Needless to say that I have left my mark on this thing that they call the internet. My computer life all started with a TRS 80 my Dad and Jean bought us for Christmas in the early 80's, to my Dad's first PC in the early 90's and I saw him connect to Prodigy. He was looking at stuff on his computer through the phone lines. Fascinating.
I have developed my skills exponentially since that first time on a computer in the early 80's or the first time ever online with prodigy to AOL to WebTV to a PC to having my own domains and Websites.
1,000 BLOG Posts is something to celebrate, but it is only the tip of the iceberg.
Here is to my next 1,000 posts. Keep Reading and I'll keep writing.

Public Sevice Commission Changes Mind
Sent to you by Pink Camo via Google Reader:
The Public Service Commission initially was going to geographically implement a new area code for the Northern Half of West Virginia. We were going to get a new 681 area code for everyone in the northern part of the state.
However the PSC has rescinded this decision and has decided to implement the new 681 area code on a overlay instead of a geographical breakdown. What this means is that new numbers will be given the 681 area code while others can retain their original phone number. Seven digit dialing will soon be a thing of the past, as with the overlay a ten digit dialing (including the area code) will need to be implemented.
For most cell phone owners, this will be nothing new as we do this now.

Opinions
When I was watching the State of the Union last night there was one thing that kept happening that really pissed me off. Why is it that the Democrats didn't clap? In my opinion ....whether you like the man or not ...whether you agree with him or not ...you still show respect. The act of not showing respect in my opinion is showing disrespect.
When I vote for President I will look for qualities in character as well as ability. Good character and showing respect is what we need to be teaching the children watching the State of the Union address last night ....not a divided government.

Here is the article form Mashable
Netflix, which recently modified its service in order to offer unlimited streaming movie rentals to its customers, has one major flaw in its efforts to compete with the new Apple movie rental offering–Netflix’s streaming service doesn’t work on Macs. This is due to the fact that Netflix uses a Microsoft-based DRM service that only works with Windows.
However, “Netflix said it hopes to support Web-based streaming for Mac owners in 2008,” according to Alley Insider. Looking over the other details that Alley Insider reporter Dan Frommer mentioned from the Q4 earnings call last night, it appears that Netflix doesn’t really have high expectations of its streaming service.
Is Netflix hoping that rolling out its support for Macs will help with user adoption? Given the set top box that Netflix is also rolling out, it would seem that Netflix is putting all the options out there, even though these most recent moves probably won’t take off in the near future. So who is Netflix’s true competition: Blockbuster or Apple? I’d say Apple. With a stronghold on portable devices and easy access to movie and audio content, Apple has a very intimate relationship with consumers.
So in becoming more compatible with Apple devices, perhaps Netflix is going the friendly route. As Apple’s most recent deal with film studios for movie rentals led to a surprising catch that resulted in new releases not becoming available until 30 days after DVDs are put out on shelves, perhaps this is Netflix’s opportunity to push whatever initiatives will help it maintain its own grip on the movie rental business.
