The Move Has Been Made

Over the last few weeks I have been busy moving my blog to a new home. As I mentioned in a previious this is due to the recent anouncment made by Apple that the iphone will now support blogging and the "TypePad" is their blogging tool of choice. I have been with Blogger for many years ...and hold all these past posts close to my heart. They will awlays be here for viewing. I will have a lik to them on my new blog in case anyone wants to go back a few years to see what I was talking about at the time. So, offically as of now you can visit me at my new blog ...and I already have a few posts up for you to read.

Your not going to believe this ....or maybe you might

I am seriously thinking about changing my host site for my blog. I have used Blogger for serveral years ...and have many times thought the grass was greener on the other side and tried another place to blog to end up coming home to blogger. I have put much work and much of myself here on Blogger. I would have never thought of leaving Blogger if it were not for the Key Note Address Steve Jobs gave Monday announicng the second generation iPhone. This blog is not about the new iPhone that I will hve come July 11th ....but about Apple's acknowledgement of blogging when developing the new iPhone. They have built new funtionality in the new iPhone .....for blogging. They chose the most popular blogging tool ....TypePad. I love Apple, I love my Mac, I love my iPod Touch and I know I will love my new iphone when I get it. I want to take advantage of every tool it provides. I have been blogging before it was even called blogging ....and I think it time to change with a tool that will work the best for me with what I have. I ahve signed up for a TypePad account today ..and wil be spending time investigating this new world where I will be blogging. I am hoping that I can pull my old blog in as an rss feed ...and to my readers ....they won't see much of a change. I have so many configuration changes on so many sites .....because they all point to my current blog. I hope that I can learn what I need to and have everything in place by July 11th.

High Sreet, the street that never sleeps

I stole this from my brothers blog ....way too awesone ...couldn't help it.

Relay For Life

As you have read in a previous post ..this was my first year participating in the American Cancer Society Relay For Live event here in Morgantown West Virginia. I truly believe that this participation was just the start of many years to come. It was moving, touching, inspirational and just down right fun. It was such a wonder to watch so many people in my community come together for a cause that effects each one of us in some way. I was also proud of Brittany for her particiaption ..I think she out walked most of us. When looking in the crown of participants, white shirts were people like myself, red shirts were team captains, and purple shirts were survivors. It saddened me to see so many people shirts, some of which were people I knew ....and a good happy feeling as well ...for they have battled the storm and were there to participate. Anyhow ...I could go on and on ...but I will stop here. With some final last words ....if you know me personally, expect me to be recruiting you next year to get out there and walk for a cure.

Can You Guess Who This is?

The Anti-Christ:

"The anti Christ will be a man, in his 40's, of Muslim decent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal ...the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything."

I read an article from the New York Times today. The article was written by a Black American Columnist for times.

He said so elleguetly " we need to stop looking at the race ....but to look behind the skin, behind the man ...the man who is running for the Preident of the United States. Some think he is a great communicator ....it's what he's not saying that worries me.

Thats my opiunion ...and as the saying goes ...everyone has one.

My name is Kim SanJulian ....and I approved this message.

Brittany's Last Day of School

Today was Brittany last day of school as a junior. I guess ...she is officaly a senior ..and that makes me old. I ask her if she was excited that it was the last day of school and she just shrugged her shoulders. She definetly does not take after me in that aspect. Brittany has always loved school. By the time August rolls around she will be counting the days and hours for her return. I suppose I should look at this as a good thing ....its sure better than the alternative.

I know a secret

I know a secret ...a pretty exciting one at that. I am not at lberty to tell it. I am so excited ....I want to blog about t. So ..I figured at least doing this was getting the urge released*lol* ....it will be a couple of months before I get to tell my secret. Stay tuned.

Congarts to Danielle

A family member graduated from high school this past weekend ...with a celebration afterward. Robert and I were not able to attend ....so we sent Brittany. She enjoyed watching Danelle graduate ..for next year it will be her throwing her hat in the air.

Danielle will be attending college in the fall.

What a weekend

Robert and I stayed up pretty late on Friday night. Actually we did not go to bed until 3:30. I think Robert got an hour of sleep before the phone rang ...there was problems at work. Robert went in ..and I didn't see him until this morning. He is still sleeping ...and I am about ready to go craw in there with him. Next week I walk in the relay for life ...so we will have another short weekend together.

I had so many things that wanted to to this weekend ..scrap booking ....cooking ..etc. Oh well, I didn't get anything accomplished.

Tomorrow is Monday.. YUCK!

Happy Birthday Ron

This post is a day late ....but yesterday was a wacked out day.  I attended Ron's birthday celebration ....and didn't even bring a card.  I had to bumm a ride to the arty and then again back home.   The purpose of this post wasn't to talk about what a weekend from hell we had .....but to wish our best friend Ron every happiness in the world.  I think things are starting to look positive for him again ...he's been down too long.  His daughter planned the entire party and did a wonderful job.  Alicia even wrote her dad a letter ....a letter that brought tears to his eys ...as well asmany of us.  Thosw two have such a bond ....and it keeps getting stronger.

PS ....I will blog tomorrow about the rest of the other stuff that happened.

Water Line Break

After coming home from our second Jeep run yesterday we had a little unwanted surprise. Robert noticed that part of our driveway felt like walking on a sponge. It was a very weird feeling ......it turned out that Robert knew exactly what it was ......a FREAKIN BROKEN WATER LINE! What a bummer! I knew then and there that the next day being Memorial day has just went down the drain. Robert grabbed his shovel and out the door he went to start digging. After a few hours he found thin itsy bitsy hole in the pipe that was causing all the problems.

Jeeping

Yesterday Robert suprised me and Brittany and got the jeep out of storage and frired it up. We took a couple of jeep runs during the day and had a blast. It's been a long time since we have been riding. We took the doors off ....which even made it that much more pleasureable.

Here are some pics of the jeep I took yesterday.

Teach Me To Scrap ...again

TAKE TWO! After months of no podcasting ...I have decided to take another stab at podcasting. I am going to use the same title as my last one ....and just kind of do a restart jump start. The last time I did the podcast I spent more time in post production than time it took to plan the weeks podcast and to do it. Since I listen to so mamy podcasts myself ..I know what is out on the market for producers of podcasters. I have decided to step back little on quality .....in order to have more time on my hands for content. There are currently many podcaster choosing this site to do their production and hosting. So stay tuned ...hopefully I will have one up very soon.

Here is the link that Will work once I get my first podcast up. I have also placed a player on the left panel of my blog for any one's convenience.

A long Weekend Ahead of US

Finally, I three day weekend to enjoy. From the weather forcasts it looks like its going to be nice one. We were going to travel south for a off road ride at the hunting camp ....but we would have had to goten up at 4:00 AM to get going ..which was a little than we care to get up.

This afternoon Robert is going to mow ...and I am going grocery shopping to pick up a few things.

Another Scrap Submitted

Last night I submitted yet another scrapbook layout to my online gallery at scrapbook.com. This is one of my many favorite picture of Brittany.

Sunday Night

...not an eventful weekend. Brittany and I went to see a movie ...we saw the second in the series of The Chronicles of Narnia. The movie was fantastic.

I was very tired this weekend ....I think the tumor is getting bigger. My next MRI isn't until July ....I am trying not to think about it much ...as the same time prepare myself for the big surgery. Most of you remember at my last surgery they were not able to remove the tumor. To remove it would require a surgical technique called "The Wipple". There are a few physicians at Johns Hopkins that do this surgery often with a very high success rate ......I just hope that it does not come down to removing the tumor.

I joined yet another scrap swap ...I think I am hooked!

...okay, off to bed ...5:30 come around too fast.

Happy Birthday Tina

Last night we enjoyed ourselves at Ron's as we celebrated Tina's 50th Birthday suprise. I will never forget the look on her face as we pulled in and she noticed the banner that has been especialy made for her. It was a priceless moment! I have many movie clips and pictures to share ....I just got done uploading them to my PC. My plan is to create a movie of the evening to share here on the web ...and to give Kevin and Tina in the format of a DVD ...so stay tuned ...it may take me a week or two. There were so many people there to celebrate with Tina ...it is obvisous that she is very much loved by amny people, I think every friend and family member she has local showed up to suprise her. Her daughter and husband and Ron arranged it all behind her back. Her daughter Reanne came in yesterday morning to get everything in place. Last night was the first time I met Reanne ....other than talking to her on the phone and I really like her. I wish she lived closer. So stay tuned for an upcoming movie and pictures displaying all the fun we had last night at Tina's Birthday celebration.

it's Finally Over

This past week The SanJulian's were invaded by a sycamore tree. I have seen this tree throw its seeds for ten years ....and this has been the worst year to date. Robert, around the tree for trile that time also says that he has never seen the tree shed so many seeds. I have my thoughts on it ........but that's another post or two.

Came home sick today

I rarely leave work because of being under the weather ....but today was an exception.  On this new diet I am on it requires me to drink a lot of water.  And .....I have been drinking a lot of water.  I feel better in genreal ...and I know that it will help with weight loss ...but try telling my freakin kidney that.  I was in so much pain today that I had to have Robert bring me home on his lunch hour.  The pain was really getting me down and cause me to be somewhat depressed ....and I really wish he could have stayed with me.  It has been a long time since I have had any kidney eposodes ...so for that i should be grateful.  I just hate when this happens and just want to bury my head under a pillow somewhere.

Little Man Robert

Here is one of the most recent scrapbook pages that I have done recently. My clicking on this it should take you to the other layouts that I have published. I am also going to add a link on the left menu bar linking to the official site hosting the layouts. I have also added then as their own folder Photo Albums on my mac site.

Picking Up the Pace

Overt the past month I think that my blogging as slowed down just a bit. I have many projects that I am working on ...and hopefully everything comes together making this blog just a little more robust. I have been putting many hours into developing my online scrapbook album so that I can share it with everyone. Also, as of today I got a few new ideas up my sleeve after talking to my brother. I am thinking about creating a "fun" social site for friends and family ....and that is easier said that done ..with many options on how to do it. Anyhow, Robert Brittany and I have been doing fine. Please keep Kamey mom in your prayers ...she is still having a tough time at it,

Until next time ........

Sunday Morning

Its now day two of the weekend ...and we have not done a whole lot to talk about. We were supposed to have gone south this weekend to ride ..but ended up not going. We were supposed to go to Ron's for a bon fire with some friends ...but mother nature had her own agenda. We ended up staying at home and watching TV. I did end with a completed scrapbook page and a second one almost complete...

This Sunday morning is quiet ....Robert watching TV ...and I on my laptop. Brittany hasn't been home for the weekend ....but will be back today ...probably late afternoon.

How to make your wife squeel

Today I had the opportunity of watching my husband bowl his very first 300 game at the West Virginia State Bowling Tournament. Words can't express how it feels to watch someone you love get something they have waited for they entire life. It was AWESOME!!

Happy Birthday Terri

Happy Birthday to my wonderful sister Terri. I have loved you my entire life and even though sometime we didn't see eye to eye .....there is nothing that is like having a sister ...and knowing when the chips are down she would be there. I love you and have a very happy birthday.

Watching TV - Sunday Monring

The original plans fr today was to go south and ride on the hunting property ....we needed to get an early start and at early it was only 40 degrees ....so, we will wait for another day.

I spent the weekend trying to figure out the best method for taking, storing, sharing and scrapbooking the photos I take ...I am still trying to figure out a plan will stick with rather than having photo's everywhere and no real organization. I thought I had it under control a few year ago ....but it would be nice to have all the pictures in albums, share most pictures on the web, and to scrapbook my favorites.

Brittany has been with her dad all weekend ...so its been a quiet weekend without her here.

The Big Dude

....I jsut found out that the big dude kept watch over a dear friend of mine over the weekend.  I just thank God that she wasn't too badly hurt and is still her to yell at us if she wants too.  When things like this happens it just makes you appreciate your relationships even more.

Robert's Bowling Award

Tonight an expected suprise came in the mail. Robert received a plaque award for a recent accomplishment for bowling. A few months ago Robwert bowled 11 strikes in a row ...which is awesome. It has been his best game to date. I am so very proud of him. The next time I take pictures I will take a picture of it and publish it here on the web.

Go Honey!

Happy Birthday Amy

So sorry that I didn't get this posted sooner ...but HAPPY birthday to my niece Amy who celebrated her birthday on March 19th. Next year at this time she will be celebrating her birthday as a new mommy

A treat from the hubby

After coming home Thursday evening from the play my husband had a wonderful surprise for me. It seems that I was going to be going on an out of town get-a-way for the weekend with my hubby for Easter Weekend.

Thanks to Ron for wathcing our baby while we were gone made it possible, However, the baby wasn't all to happy about us leaving. He can always tell what is coming when he see the suitcases. Ron said that while we were gone that Roki seemed to be sad and not himself. When we came home Sunday it was obvious that he was punishing us for leaving him for the weekend.

Once again as I am typing this blog my pictures are still be published to my Picture Gallery. The folder you want to for our weekend away is called "Wheeling Downs".

We went to Wheeling Island. The last time Robert and I tried to stay there we were evacuated because of a hurricane that came up and closed the casino the only time in the Casio's history.

We had reservation for the Terrace Room and had and awesome dinner. Robert had a New York Strip and I had a slab of baby back ribs. You can see from the pictures that my ribs was way more than one person could eat and I ended up bringing most of the slab home.

As far as our betting we ended up $50 in the red after seventeen races. Typically, I do better than what I did. I was selecting my dogs for a "muddy" track ...and when we got to the race it the track was classified as a "fast track". I won the most races ...but Robert earned more of his money back than I did.

We had an awesome time ..and think we are going to make this an Easter weekend tradition for years to come.

A Wonderful Play

Last week for four evenings my mom was in a play at Riverside Apostolic Church in Westover, WV. The church was doing a production of a play called "The Messiah". The play lasted for two hours at which prior to going I was'nt thriled about how long it was going to last. The play was AWESOME ...and now after seeing it I would have attended all four evenings it was that good. I was so proud of my mom too ....she did an awesome job.

I am in the process of uploading the pictures off my camera. Shortly, you will be able to go to my Picture Gallery and look for a folder called "The Play". Inside this folder you will find pictures of my mom with her friends who were also in the play and pictures of my brother, brittany and myself that evening.

Prior to attending play the my brother, treated my sister, Brittany and myself to dinner at Olive Garden.

Behind in my Blogging

I have got myself behind in my blogging ...and if I don't catch myself up now I may just forget everything that has happened in the past week. So .....I am going to sit here until I get to the present day before I move on and read my email that I have not read in the past week. How in the heck did I get so far behind?

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

Tuesday

Just chillin here at the kitchen table with Brittany. Its's Tuesday night and we are sitting here talking about all sorts of things. School, boys, grades, summer vacations .....typical teenage things. Her and I went to a movie on Saturday, we cal College Road Trip ....it was funny. But leave it to me to start crying at the end ....I can't even go to a comedy without tearing up. The thought of Brittany growing up make me happy with happy tears ....but there are a few sad ones too. It seems only like yesterday when she was born. That was one of the most happiest times of my life ...I always wanted a daughter ..and there she was. Daniel was six years old when she was born ...so the timing was perfect. He really enjoyed being "big"brother ...and I think he still does.

Speaking of Daniel .he started a new job this week ....everything seems to be going okay with him. The only downfall is that he has to be gone away during the week away from Kamey and the kids.

Robert is bowling tonight ....he has been on an excellent streak ..so I hope it continues for him tonight. It makes me happy when he comes home on Tuesday evenings so hap because he had a good night at the lanes.

I am going to curl up here in a bit with my Kindell. I am currently reading "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle ....I think this book is changing my life. It is having a huge impact on me and just the way I am. I would recommend this book to anyone.

As I am typing this Brittany is putting her ear buds on my head so I can hear her list of most recent favorites.

10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing!

7:00 pm - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!

8:00 pm - Wow! Watched TV with my people! My favorite thing!

11:00 pm - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!

CAT DIARY:

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed
hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the
rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to
keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet.
I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly
demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made
condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.

Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was
placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I
could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my
confinement was due to the power of allergies." I must learn what this
means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this
again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and
seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the
guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors
have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is
safe.

For now...

I did some updating on my Facebook Account this morning. I really like Facebook. Take a look around and becone my frined ....we had have fun online if we are there at the same time. I will loo forward to seeing you in FaceBook. I am going to update my "'My Space" account later this afternoon

Monday Morning

Yesterday I worked a 12 hours shift ...so my boss gave me today off. I wasn't orignally going to take it today ....but after yesterday I was tired. I don't know if it was worth having someone in there to answer the very few calls that came in ...but oh well.

I am not going to do much today other than watch TV and do a few things on my laptop, and possible read some of my book and take a nap.

I might surg around in "BLOGGER and MY SPACE" to see if there is anything new I can add to my page.

Crazy at work

Its been really crazy at work and I have not had much time for anything. On Sunday I get to work a 12 hour shift answering phones. I really don't want to work ...but considering the number of hours most of coworkers has put in ...its the least I could do. The one thing I enjoy doing on the weekend is sleeping in ...so I will have to give that one up on Sunday.

Right now, I am going to brush my hair out and curl up with a book that I am reading, "A New Eatth" by Eckhart Tolle. I woul say that this book is probably going to be the most important book in my life sedond only to the bible, and probably have an impact on my life that no other book could have created. If your not reading it ...you should be. Everyone should have to read this book.

Good Reads

Yesterday I talked to someone who introduced me to Good Reads. This is a social network for book worms like myself. I could spend hours on here ...but called it quits last night. I did manage to enter the books that were on my desk ...but its going to take a few weekend mornings to get at least the ones that I can remember reading. If your a book worm like myself ..sign up and become my friend. I added a link to my books on the sidebar.

Monday

Its the start of a new week ..and it is starting off great. I am over whatever bug it is that I had, its warm outside ...like spring, today and Kamey's and Daniel's second year wedding anniversary and I am just as happy as can be.

I started a new book over the weekend called "A New Earth" ...is is a great book ..so far the book is living up to its reputation. The book is not an easy one to read ...it takes much focused thought while reading ...but the message is awesome and well worth the time it take to read and understand every word.

Hair Removal Evening

Hair Removal Evening

This is funny. (I don't have a clue as to who wrote this, but....WHAT A HOOT!)

All hair removal methods have tricked women with their promises of easy, painless removal -

The Epilady, scissors, razors, Nair and now...the wax.

Read on......

My night began as any other normal weeknight. Come home, fix dinner, play with the kids.

I then had the thought that would ring painfully in my mind for the next few hours:

'Maybe should pull the waxing kit out of the medicine cabinet.'

So I headed to the site of my demise: the bathroom. It was one of those 'cold wax' kits.

No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm and you peel them apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else) and you pull the hair right off.

No muss, no fuss. How hard can it be?

I mean, I'm not a genius, but I am mechanically inclined enough to figure this out. (YA THINK!?!)

So I pull one of the thin strips out. Its two strips facing each other stuck together.

Instead of rubbing them together, my genius kicks in so I get out the hair dryer and heat it to 1000 degrees. ('Cold wax,' yeah...right!) I lay the strip across my thigh.

Hold the skin around it tight and pull. It works!

OK, so it wasn't the best feeling, but it wasn't too bad. I can do this!

Hair removal no longer eludes me!

I am She-rah, fighter of all wayward body hair and maker of smooth skin extraordinaire.

With my next wax strip I move north.

After checking o n the kid s, I sneak back into the bathroom, for the ultimate hair fighting championship.

I drop my pant ies and place one foot on the toilet.

Using the same procedure, I apply the wax strip across the right side of my bikini line, covering the right half of my hoo-ha and stretching down to the inside of my butt cheek (it was a long strip)

I inhale deeply and brace myself....RRRRRRIIIIPPP!!!!

I'm blind!!!

Blinded from pain!!!!....

OH MY GAUD!!!!!!!!!

Vision returning, I notice that I've only managed to pull off half the strip. CRAP!

Another deep breath and RIPP! Everything is spinning and spotted.

I think I may pass out...must stay conscious...must stay conscious.
Do I hear crashing drums???

Breathe, breathe............

OK, back to normal.
I want to see my trophy -

a wax-covered strip, the one that has caused me so much pain, with my hairy pelt sticking to it.

I want to revel in the glory that is my triumph over body hair.

I hold up the strip!
There's NO hair on it.

Where is the hair???

WHERE IS THE WAX???

Slowly I ease my head down, foot still perched on the toilet.

I see the hair.
The hair that should be on the strip...it's not!

I touch.

I am touching wax.

I run my fingers over the most sensitive part of my body, which is now covered
in cold wax and matted hair.

Then I make the next BIG mistake...remember my foot is still propped upon the toilet?

I know I need to do something.

So I put my foot down.

Sealed shut!

My butt is sealed shut.

Sealed shut!

I penguin walk around the bathroom trying to figure out what to do and think to myself

'Please don't let me get the urge to poop. My head may pop off!'

What can I do to melt the wax?

Hot water!! Hot water melts wax!!

I'll run the hottest water I can stand into the bathtub, get in, immerse the wax-covered bits and the wax should

melt and I can gently wipe it off, right???

*WRONG!!!!!!!*

I get in the tub -

The water is slightly hotter than that used to torture prisoners of war or sterilize surgical equipment - I sit.

Now, the only thing worse than having your nether regions glued together,

is having them glued together and then glued to the bottom of the tub...in scalding hot water.

Which, by the way, doesn't melt cold wax.

So, now I'm stuck to the bottom of the tub as though I had cemented myself to the porcelain!!

God bless the man who had convinced m e a few months ago to have a phone put in the bathroom!!!!!

I call my friend, thinking surely sh e has waxed before and has some secret of how to get me undon e.

It's a very good conversation starter 'So, my butt and hoo-ha are glued together to the bottom of the tub!'

There is a slight pause. She doesn't know any secret tricks for removal but she does try to hide her laughter from me.

She wants to know exactly where the wax is located, 'Are we talking cheeks or hole or hoo-ha?'

She's laughing out loud by now...I c an hear her.

I give her the rundown and she suggests I call the number on the side of the box.
YEAH!!!!! Right!!

I should be the joke of someone else's night.

While we go through various solutions. I resort to trying to scrape the wax off with a razor .

Nothing feels better than to have your girlie goodies covered in hot wax, glued shut, stuck to the tub in super hot water and then dry-shaving the sticky wax off!!

By now the brain is not working, dignity has taken a major hike and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need Post-Traumatic Stress counseling for this event.

My friend is still talking with me wh en I finally see my saving grace....the lotion they give you to remo ve th e excess wax.

What do I really have to lose at this point?

I rub some on and OH MY STARS!!!!!!!

The scream probably woke t he kids and scared the dickens out of my friend.

It's sooo painful, but I really don't care

IT WORKS!!

It works !!' I get a hearty congratulations from my friend and she hangs up.

I successfully remove the remainder of the wax and then notice to my grief and despair....

THE HAIR IS STILL THERE........ALL OF IT!

So I recklessly shave it off. Heck, I'm numb by now. Nothing hurts.

I could have amputated my own leg at this point.

Next week I'm going to try hair color......

In case you have not figured this out ...this was a joke I got in my email from my friend Debbie .....I am still laughing.

My Kindell Arrived

As crappy as I have been feeling I have not had enough time with my new toy my Kindell. Everyone I have showed it to really likes it ...and it would not surprise me if I had some friends that takes the Kindell plunge as well.

Its been so long since I have been this under the weather ..I am so ready to start feeling better.

Robert and I are both down with the fl at the same time ...I told him tonight that I was not sure if its better or not to b sick at the same time ..both has its advantages and disadvantages,

We talked to Ron tonight ....I wish I could do something to bring his sprits up ...and hate when I have a friend that is down ..and in Ron’s case more like a brother.

Another test

I am just about ready to throw in the towel with this new software!

Monday, February 25, 2008

I am trying

...to get the hang of this new software and it has been a fight since I got it. One of us is going to win the battle

Under the Weather

The week didn’t start out the best. Everyone in the house is crabby and not feeling well. On top of the we are waiting for the cable guy to show up so that he can fix our broken “On Demand” service. I am tired and want to go to bed. I was hoping that my Kindell was going to show up today ......but oh well, maybe tomorrow.

My Kindell is on its way!

For several months there has been a new electronic on the market that has caught my eye. I Have been waning one really bad. I finally convinced myself with as much reading as I do it will pay for itself in no time. I have so many books ....and they are books that I don’t want to ever par with. But, with the rate of book buying I have been doing for the past two years I will be able to open up a library in no time.

The Kindell from Amazon. It does have a few competitors like the Sony eReader .....but I have done my homework and its Kindell all the way,

Oh ...and by the way I am using my new blogging software Mac Journal.

And if the mood hits me right in the morning ...I mau work on a new website I have been wanting to put together since I got my new Mac Book Pro.

One More Test Blog

This is my last test blog before I put myself to bed tonight ....I am loving this!

Adding another test blog

Wow ....I am just starting to see how well all the apple products integrate with each other. As soon as I put together a web page from my .mac account you will understand what I am talking about. I just haven’t found the time as of yet.

Trying Out New Software

I currently purchased a new software application that I will use for blogging. The software is designed specifically for Macs. There is a lot to it ...and will make my blog look more appealing to the eye. I don’t have to log into blogger in order to post to my blog. In addition to that is also works as a journal. Someday, I would like to print my journal and make a book of it our something ...this is just a step in that direction that will allow me t do that.

I am very curious to learn all the features it has to offer.

This is test from my Mac journal

This is test to see if this application works;

A Local Author

Today, while out on lunch break I saw a book for sale that looked
interesting. The author is from right here in Morgantown. The book is
called "A Bump at Pinnacle Flats". She dedicated her book to two local
coal miners one being her father. The author is Kathy Leveno Stackpole
is currently works at Chico Enterprises. I am looking forward to
reading this book. From what I understand she makes reference to life
in West Virginia. I will let you know when I am done reading the book
what I thought.

I have just became a Millennium Blogger. This very BLOG post is my 1,000th BLOG post since I first started Blogging with my first post on September 11, 2004 when I posted "My First Post" as my very first ever blog. Who would have ever imagined after that first post I would reach such a milestone as a Blogger.

I would like to thank my Sister Kim who first started her own online Journal on her old website. I would like to than Evan Fedorko for making the statement that he was a Grogger not a Blogger to make me wonder what a Blogger was. I would like to thank any and all dedicated readers who read this on a daily basis for information, News or just some rambling on my part.

What is amazing is how many times George's Journal has appeared in Google searches when I Google things up because of something that I have said in my Blog.

It's amazing sometimes how you can see yourself develop over the internet if you know where to look. 1,000 Blog posts says a lot about my post collegiate life since I became a Blogger after I graduated college. However like I said it's a matter of knowing where to look to see other material. During College years and also post college I have 20,000+ posts on Blue and Gold News and my username returns 1,490 returns of me expressing myself on the internet in one manner or another. Most of this was done during and post college. If you are looking for anything prior to me going to college, well that stuff is there too. I used to post on Newsgroups pretty regularly and if you google my username there you can come up with another 378 times I posted my opinion on one subject or another. Most of those were done in my WebTV days when I first started using the World Wide Web. Now if they could only google up my old IRC Chat transcripts from the early 90's with AOL and and later at Talk City we would be set.

Needless to say that I have left my mark on this thing that they call the internet. My computer life all started with a TRS 80 my Dad and Jean bought us for Christmas in the early 80's, to my Dad's first PC in the early 90's and I saw him connect to Prodigy. He was looking at stuff on his computer through the phone lines. Fascinating.

I have developed my skills exponentially since that first time on a computer in the early 80's or the first time ever online with prodigy to AOL to WebTV to a PC to having my own domains and Websites.

1,000 BLOG Posts is something to celebrate, but it is only the tip of the iceberg.

Here is to my next 1,000 posts. Keep Reading and I'll keep writing.

My Space Reminder

Here is a reminder of where I can be found on My Space

Kim's Facebook Reminder

Made some changes in my Facebook ....take a peek.

Some Changes in Blogger

Blooger has always been my blog of choice ...and I have tried them all. I always come back to blogger ...in my opinion they are at the top. Anyhow ...they are getting ready for some new changes. You can read all about it at Draft Blogger. I am using it right now and will be giving it a test run.

iScrapbook

One of my favorite hobbies is scrapbooking. For years I have been a conventional scrapbooker. You would think that as much as I love web design and working on my laptop that my preferance would be more towards digital scrapbooking. Well ...at last it is. I decided a few months ago, since I got my Mac Book Pro that I was going change the way I scrapbook and combine the conventional methods with digital. I went on a search for the best digitial scrapbooking software I cold find ...and I have test drove many digital applications. At last ...I found the perfect scrapbooking software called iscrapbook. If you are interested in digital scrapbooking it would be my recommendation that you give iscrapbook a try .....I think you will be pleased. I am looking forward getting one done so that I can share the digital part of it here online. The first one that I am working on is Daniel and Kamey's visit to Morgantown a few months ago.

See aura energy through fingers, and aura around bodies

I taught myself how to do this!

Step it Up 2 - A clip

Here is a movie clip from the movie Brittany and I jsut went to see on Friday night.

Our New Mattress

I LOVE out new mattress made espically for the Hampton Inn hotels. They sale there mattesses at the Hamton Home Collection. It is a king size just like out older one. Robert hates it! But ...he has also hatesd every new matress he ever gets. I am sure it will take some time for him to get use to. When I woke up in the middle of the night on Frida night he was on the sofa because the bed was hurting his arm. I ordered another pillow type insert that goes on top ....hopefully that will help him out. What is very different about this bed is that we decided to use the box springs on our platform bed. I have to use a stool in get in and out of bed. Both Roki and Bulsie have enough sping action is their butts to manage to still sleep with us. *lol*

Step it up - Number 2

Brittany has long awaited the second release of "STEP IT UP 2" for some time now. Her and I ventured out Friday evening for a girls night at the movies. It was fun ...although I would have rather seen "JUMPER". Step it up was a movie that Robert elected not to go see ....it was definetly a chic flick. It was a good dance movie ....I think dance movies have come a long way since my teenage years when I was going to see "Flash Dance" and "Foot Loose".

Snipping Coupons

....it's been awile since I have sat and clipped coupns from the Sunday paper. I never seem to take the time to do it anymore. After my last monthly grocery shopping day a few weeks ago I decided that this family needs to take time to snip coupons whenever we can. I was shocked at the prices. What we had once budgeted 6 monthis to a year ago ...with money leftover is now not enough to get the job done. It's a shame that gas prices are so high where they don't need to be. I don't know how a young family starting out these days manage ...I certainly woulnd't want to be going through that again.

Go Robert!

Robert bowled this weekend at the Eagles Tournament in Fairmont. We had to be there Saturday at 1:30 and this morning at 9:00 AM ,,,,,I elected to stay in bed for the one today though. For the entrire series he had a 197 average and 639 in singles and curently in 6th place, 541 in doubles and 600 even in team event today. It as the first time he has bowled on wood lanes for serveral years. He really prefers to bowl on wood lanes ....but it took hm some adjusting to get used to them again. I am always so proud of my baby!

A Cold Winter

This is the first year that we ran out of firewood. Typically, we have JUST enough wood to make it ...almost down to the exact log. Here we are mid way through February and we only have a half a row left. I called our wood guy tonight .....he is going to deliver and stack a row of firewood tomorrow for us. Robert and I were both glad that he still had firewood left.

Public Sevice Commission Changes Mind

Thank Goodness!!

Sent to you by Pink Camo via Google Reader:

via George's Journal by George Hall on 2/14/08

The Public Service Commission initially was going to geographically implement a new area code for the Northern Half of West Virginia. We were going to get a new 681 area code for everyone in the northern part of the state.

However the PSC has rescinded this decision and has decided to implement the new 681 area code on a overlay instead of a geographical breakdown. What this means is that new numbers will be given the 681 area code while others can retain their original phone number. Seven digit dialing will soon be a thing of the past, as with the overlay a ten digit dialing (including the area code) will need to be implemented.

For most cell phone owners, this will be nothing new as we do this now.

I Love my New Mattress

Last night after such my new mattress arrived. I can't say my first
night was my best nights sleep ...I was really feeling quite ill ..and
any bed would have felt good. I still don't feel the best ...but I am
at work. I hope to have a good evening so I can give my mattress an
official good nights sleep. We ended up using the box springs and Roki
can barely get in bed with us ...not sure if that is good or bad.
Robert and I are going to give it to the weekend ..and may end up taking
off the box springs to lower the bed.

Lord of the Rings

.....I might be a generation behind but I finally watched the first movie in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. I really liked it by the time it ended ....but was struglling with it when it began. I am definetly looking forward to the second one ...although I don't think it will be tonight. Robert just watched this first one with me ....but I have a sneaky suspision that he won't be watching number two ..or three *lol*

Saturday Mornings

There is something that is special about Saturday mornings. I just got to sleep in, I don't really have to get up, I know that I can go to bed anytime I want to tonight .....and I can sleep in again tomorrow. I don't think there is any other day of the week that you have so many options open.

I got a call yesterday .......my new mattress comes this Wednesday ....HOO RAY!!!!

One more day to go ...

.....until the weekend. I am more tired than usual this week. I think that a lack of food has definelty hindered my energy and sleep patterns. Today is day seven of the diet and so far so good. We had an open house at work today .food galore! I was good and only had a salad and some green beans. I refuse to use the scales on this diet ..I am going to go by the fit of my clothes. So far ...I have not been able tp store any of my fat clothes in the garage. Maybe in a few weeks I might have a few things that I put away and hope to never see again.

We are going to take it easy this weekend ....Robert bowls next weekend and the weekend after that we are going to another deer roast. Myabe I will get started on another good book this weekend.

Tonights Dinner

After our taxes today, if we get through it without mad at each other we will be eating for the first time on our new grill. We have been without a grill. Yesterday, while Brittany and I were out shopping Robert was working hard on putting together the HE-MAN grill of his dreams. We both love grilled foods. Is a perfect time to be eating grilled foods since I started this new diet ...with most of my diet being lean meats.

Another Tax Blog

Talkng of tax matters .....I just read that the tax that they wanted pass by vote yesterday failed! ...thank goodness! What the vote was for was to pass a $2.00 per week tax if you live and work on Mon County. I for one am glad it didn't pass ....I give enough of
my hard earned money to the tax monster. I do believe in taxes ....but I would prefer to only be taxed once on my income. I know there were many of my friends and family members that disagreed with the new tax proposal as much as I did ....so the outcome was very good.

Tax Day for The SanJulian's

Today is the day the I dread. It is the day that Robert and I will sit down and d our taxes. Although we do use tax software, it is extrremely stressfull. It's such a dreadful thought I don't know why I am even doing this blog. *lol* So ....I think I will end it here.

DAY 3

Because of my "carefree" views of what I eat ..... I am now on DAY 3 of my diet. It was a diet I knew I needed to get started, one that I had tried to get started, and one that I kept starting over ever day. I went to my doctor on Wednesday and there was something that also showed up on y CT scan .....a sign that I need to loose weight. The hardest thing for me is to suffer by not eating when I am hungry ....therefore I eat. The only way for me to not eat is to not be hungry. The only way I have ever found not to be hungry was not to eat carbs. So, today is day three of a carb free diet. So far, so good .....I made it to third day without "starting over". I have a very long way to go .......but I am going to give this my best effort.

Weekend Flying By

Yesterday ...I slept late and the rest of the day was spent running errands, shopping, putting away the goods. By the end of the day I was exhausted. I always take Brittany with me on the only day of the month I shop for groceries ...I simply can't just push two buggies around and check out by myself. You wouldn't think that a family of three, five including the pets, could possibly eat so much food in one month. We all have different tastes and different nutrition requirements for different reasons. When I was a child ....I ate what was on the table, Now, luckily for me I liked everything my mom made ...but I would have been one hungry little girl. There were a few times i did have to eat something that I didn't want. I promised myself as a little girl that I would never make my children eat something that they felt was repulsing ...and that I would find another way to get the same nutrition into my child by giving them something they enjoyed eating. Eating is one of the simple pleasures in life ...shouldn't we enjoy it?
Stay tuned to my next blog *lol*

Groundhog Day Video From You Tube

This is a pretty good video I found on You Tube about ground hog day,

Is Spring Around the Corner?

Tomorrow is Ground Hog Day.  Depending on whether or not the ground hog sees his shadow will forcast if we are going to have 6 weeks of winter left.  I for one ...at this time of the year is eagerly awaiting spring.  I also know that my brother follows this news very close .....hoping that there is no snow in his future for the current year.  But whether ot not the groundhog sees his shadow ....we still have the good ole Easter snow to look forward to.

A New Social Network

In my opinion there are more than needed social networks. I myself belonf to several ..but am only visit my "My Space" page and my "Face Book" page. If you wold have asked me yesterday I would have told you that I wouldn't want to be joining any others in the near future. However, earlier this month a read a book called "The Gaia Project". While searching on one of my many metaphysical websites I visited the Cosmic Lighthouse. While I was there I discovered that there is a metaphysical social network called The Gaia Community ......so, I am going to sign up. It will be nice to converse with like minded people.

Long Awaited

I have been waiting a long time for the series "Lost" to start back up again. I believe that it is a two hour special tonight. Robert doesn't care much for the show but he watches it weekly with me when it is on. It is typical for Robert after watching an episode to wonder why in the heck he watches the show. Here we go ......

The Core

I couldn't fall back to sleep this morning so I decided to watch a rented movie from itunes. "The Core" was my selection. It was okay ,,,,but pretty predicable. I have to wonder how much of the fiction is true if any?

I don't know much about Geology ........but I have brother that might be able to educate me if I have any questions. Possibly, I will give him a ring on the phone tonight.

I just had another idea for a podcast ...I might have to give it a few thoughts and then call my brother. My brain is in overdrive!

Off Work

After a visit to the doctors office yesterday I am off work till the end of the week. I didn't disagree with her decision on honestly I feel like shit. Robert left work a half a day early to take me to the doctors cause he was worried about me driving.

After going to the Pharmacy to pick up some new medications my doctor put me on Robert brought me home. We took the phone off the hook and took a little nap. It was nice ...just that alone made me feel better.

I always wish for extra time on my hands to get things done ....I wish I wasn't feeling so crappy. With the way I am feeling ....I will probably hanf out with the puppy and drink lots of fluids.

Terence Mckenna: 2012 Timewave Zero TV Show Sightings

A video from You Tube worth watching.

I Love iTunes Movie Rentals

I have just downloaded my fourth movie rental since Apple announced at Mac World that they were introducing movie rentals. This morning ...as I lay sick in bed I watched the Divine Secrets of the Ya YA Sisterhood. It was an excellent movie! It is a movie that I have been wanting to see ...but it was definitely a "Chick Flick" ...which is the only movie category that is off limits when Robert and I watch movies together. Tonight I downloaded a movie called "The Core" ...looks interesting. I hope by the weekend I get a chance to watch it. Although ...I do want to get started of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy I purchased.

When you download movies from you have 30 days to start the movie. Once yo start he movie you have 24 hours to watch the movie as many times as you want. '

I think I will be sing this service often.

Watching American Idol with Brittany

Tonight I am relaxing on the sofa as I watch American Idol with Brittany. Tonight they are showing the auditions form Nebraska. There have been a few good ones ....but not as good as the other cities. The highlight of the evening was when Simon let Ryan sit in as a judge for one audition.

Tonight while Brittany and I are watching TV Robert is off at his tuesday nigh bowling league night. The last time that he bowled his bowled 11 in a row ..so I am hoping that he calls tonight ad says that he had a full 300.

Wind Advisory Tonight - Scary

I have to admit that I am one of those goods that watch the weather channel more often than I should. Anyhow, there is a severe wind advisory coming. According to the National Weather in Pittsburgh we are expecting in excess of 60 mile per hour winds tonight from 1:00AM to 10:00 Am tomorrow morning. I guess there is a possibility I may get up in the morning without electric ....which would totally suck. They may even call of school ....at least I would think the would.

Opinions

I know that opinions are like ass holes ....everyone has one. ANY, I typically don't talk politics on my blog. First let me say that I do not care at all for our current president, President Bush. BUT ...he is our president ...and for that I will respect him.

When I was watching the State of the Union last night there was one thing that kept happening that really pissed me off. Why is it that the Democrats didn't clap? In my opinion ....whether you like the man or not ...whether you agree with him or not ...you still show respect. The act of not showing respect in my opinion is showing disrespect.

When I vote for President I will look for qualities in character as well as ability. Good character and showing respect is what we need to be teaching the children watching the State of the Union address last night ....not a divided government.

Home Again Today

I am having yet another one of those kidney days that is pretty much keeping me down. On top of that I woke up this morning with a freakin head cold .....that I could really do without. I did go into my work email box and clear a couple things out. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow ... I hope she can help me get through this once again.

Sleeping on Cloud Nine Soon

I have NOT been sleeping on cloud nine for the past few years due to the crappy mattress we purchased. We currently have the Temperpedic ...with individual controls. Our current bed is the by far the worst bed I have ever slept on. Yesterday Robert gave me the green light to purchase a new mattress ....and I already knew what mattress I wanted. If you have ever stayed at a Hampton Inn in the most recent years you will know what I am talking about. Sleeping on a Hampton Inn mattress is like sleeping on cloud nine ......so......... I called yesterday and I will am getting the exact mattess made by Serta that is made for the Hampton Inns. The only bad thing is that it will take 4-6 weeks for me to get.

I Hate Sunday Evenings

I love sleeping in on Sunday mornings ...then the rest of it goes down hill. It's is now Sunday night and that only means one thing. BACK TO WORK. So now ....I am getting ready to lay down after a very nice Sunday ....knowing that when I wake up ...I have to go to HELL.

.......until I get back from hell

Thank Goodness for ITunes

I wasn't planning on using NetFlix anyhow ....especially after the recent announcement from Apple introducing their new "Movie Rental" feature. Its a good thing ITunes came along ....because NetFlix can't make Mac users happy.

Here is the article form Mashable

Netflix, which recently modified its service in order to offer unlimited streaming movie rentals to its customers, has one major flaw in its efforts to compete with the new Apple movie rental offering–Netflix’s streaming service doesn’t work on Macs. This is due to the fact that Netflix uses a Microsoft-based DRM service that only works with Windows.

However, “Netflix said it hopes to support Web-based streaming for Mac owners in 2008,” according to Alley Insider. Looking over the other details that Alley Insider reporter Dan Frommer mentioned from the Q4 earnings call last night, it appears that Netflix doesn’t really have high expectations of its streaming service.

Is Netflix hoping that rolling out its support for Macs will help with user adoption? Given the set top box that Netflix is also rolling out, it would seem that Netflix is putting all the options out there, even though these most recent moves probably won’t take off in the near future. So who is Netflix’s true competition: Blockbuster or Apple? I’d say Apple. With a stronghold on portable devices and easy access to movie and audio content, Apple has a very intimate relationship with consumers.

So in becoming more compatible with Apple devices, perhaps Netflix is going the friendly route. As Apple’s most recent deal with film studios for movie rentals led to a surprising catch that resulted in new releases not becoming available until 30 days after DVDs are put out on shelves, perhaps this is Netflix’s opportunity to push whatever initiatives will help it maintain its own grip on the movie rental business.

The Black Vault

The Black Vault is one of my favorite podcasts. Its a little out there ....but some of it I do believe. The people that are interviews are highly respectable people that has contributed much value to society. You would NOT find these people on Jerry Springer. If you like those "What If?" type podcast ...then I highly recommend the The Black Vault. I found this podcast a little over a week ago and I have already listened to all the archives.

9 minutes and counting

With 9 minutes left to save $200 on a grill from Sears. Robert and I hurried to get the credit card into Sears.com.  We made it!  We have not had a grill in 4 years.   We can now finally grill at the house once again.
